Orlando Game Developers

Position: President and Founder
Description: The Orlando Game Developers is the largest student run organization within the DeVry University Orlando campus. Its mission is to provide students with the means and support to develop as individuals, gamers, and game programmers.
Duties: As President, I was responsible for leading weekly meetings, lifting up and challenging members with new and innovative development opportunities, organizing events ranging from movie nights to game development conferences, and working closely with administrators and faculty to constantly improve the work and involvement of the "OGD" around campus.
For over years I continued to find new and inventive ways for members to rediscover the joy in their education. During this time we developed content for the Unreal Engines, Microsoft XNA, DirectX, OpenGL, Torque, and Game Maker, just to name a few. Guest speakers and conference calls with legends such as Ralph Baer and Tim Schafer have also graced our meetings. Student led tutorials and weekly programming contests are of the norm in an OGD meeting.
Toward the end of my education , I was selected to represent DeVry at the 2008 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, California. DeVry picked up the entire costs of the trip including airfare, hotel, tickets, and meals.
